New Quincy House Parking Bays Renovation Project

Harvard University’s Faculty of Arts & Sciences (FAS) has engaged a contractor to replace the concrete flooring in the New Quincy House Residence Hall parking bays located on Dewolfe Street. The project is scheduled to begin during the week of Tuesday, May 31, 2022, and project completion is expected mid-August 2022.

Schedule & Neighborhood Impacts:

  • Once the project begins, Quincy House neighbors can expect the presence of a work crew on Monday through Friday as well as construction equipment and activity within the work site.
  • Some Saturday work is anticipated between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
  • During these hours, the work will generate some noise due to the use of construction equipment and power tools needed to perform this work.
  • Fencing with scrim will be erected to enclose the worksite area between the parking bays and the street. The fencing will extend out to the street, closing the sidewalk on the Dewolfe Street side in front of Quincy House.
  • Signage and police details will direct pedestrians to the opposite sidewalk on Dewolfe Street.
  • Dewolfe Street will remain open to vehicular and bicycle traffic throughout the project. Street closures will not be necessary.
  • Upon completion, the contractor will restore the Dewolfe Street sidewalk along Quincy House.
