Public Way Impacts

  • Harvard/Cambridge Police details will be posted at each intersection of Bow Street, Linden Street and Plympton Street.
  • Bow Street will remain closed in front of Randolph Hall from Linden to Plympton Street.
  • Linden Street and Plympton Street will have a drive lane and both roads remain open for pedestrians.
  • Linden Street will be periodically blocked to vehicular traffic for dumpster swaps, deliveries, and to move machinery.
  • A site fence has been installed, including lighting and signage.
  • Dumpster swaps will continue at the north end of Plympton Street, Bow Street, and the courtyard.
  • Continuous deliveries will take place at Linden, Plympton, and Bow Streets.
 Exterior Site Activities
  • Deliveries will be made on Bow Street for load-in of material at southwest gate and on Linden Street at the entrance to the courtyard.
  • Chimney and dormer rebuilding will continue on Bow Street.
  • Dumpster loading with trash chute will continue on Bow Street.
  • The tower crane will continue to be operational in the courtyard from 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM.
  • Steam tunnel work will take place after understanding of impacts and design is set.
  • Installation of chimney steel will continue at the roof level of Linden Street and Bow Street.
  • The cantilevered section of the staging on the west side along Linden Street will be erected with the assistance of the courtyard tower crane. Lulls will also be assisting the tower crane in erecting staging and will be placed within the site fence.
  • Window epoxy repairs are ongoing within the courtyard and Plympton Street.
  • Thru wall flashing will be installed at the chimneys.
  • Carpentry work will occur on the building chimney caps.
  • Installation of gutter blocking will take place.
 Interior Site Activities
  • Demolition crews will continue work on the chimneys, shafts, and dumbwaiter shafts.
  • Shoring will continue to be installed throughout the building to accommodate chimney, structural, and shaft demolition.
  • Subfloor replacement and patching will continue throughout all floors.
  • Vacuum excavation will continue in the basement for structural footings as areas become available.
  • Temporary steam risers will continue to be installed on the east and west wings of the building for temporary heat.
  • Temporary heat activities will continue.
  • Interior staging will be added to assist with concrete infills.
  • Work will take place on interior concrete infills and lintels.
  • Installation of fire protection risers will occur.
  • Subfloor framing infills will begin to take place at the attic level.
