Harvard University has hired a contractor to repair and restore the exterior of the Harvard owned and operated parking garage located on the corner of Broadway and Felton Street. The purpose of the project is to perform maintenance on the garage and restore the facility’s outside aesthetic to its original appearance. The project began during the week of Monday, April 19, 2022, with project completion expected in December 2022.
Area residents and businesses can expect the presence of work crews and construction equipment at the garage between the project’s standard work hours, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. During the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., the maintenance and restoration of the garage will generate some noise due to the use of construction equipment, boom lifts, and power tools needed to make the necessary repairs. Some occasional Saturday work may be necessary between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Sunday work is not anticipated.
General Project Information:
- Scaffolding and/or boom lifts will be used to reach the garage’s upper levels.
- Contractor parking is not allowed on the streets. All vehicles supporting the project will park in the garage.
- The garage will remain operational and open to the public for the duration of the project.
- There will not be any impacts to or use of the Broadway Market parking lot.
