Please be advised that the contractor will be working on the Monday holiday, June 20, 2022, to perform demolition work on the chimney and remove joint sealants. As a head’s up to anyone who chooses to work in the office or study in the SCC on the Monday holiday, please be advised that his work will generate noise. Most of the noise will be heard by the windows and will carry on throughout the course of the day.
After Monday, to minimize inconvenience to the building’s occupants, the contractor will do its best to sequence the work in a way that will be the least disruptive. That said, the nature of the work required to remove and replace the building’s roof generates noise.
Next week, if concrete pinning or cutting work is necessary, both of which are fairly loud, the work will be restricted to the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. After 9:00 a.m. next week, building occupants may continue to experience some noise due to the presence of work crews, the use of construction equipment, and power tools required to complete this project.
Harvard Real Estate is meeting with the contractor on Tuesday morning to discuss noise management for the duration of the project and we will keep you apprised.
