Week of August 12, 2024

The following summarizes the work planned on the Adams House Phase 3 renovation for the week of August 12. Please note that items in BOLD are expected to generate some noticeable noise.

PUBLIC WAY IMPACTS:

  • Continuous deliveries and dumpster swaps will occur throughout the week.
  • Water service work will begin next week on Monday 8/12. Work will begin within the site fence at the beginning of the week and then move into Bow Street. The contractor will coordinate with the city for work outside the fence.
  • Repairs to the tunnel roof from Randolph Hall to Russell Hall will require the contractor to close Plympton Street to through traffic starting on 8/12 at all times for approximately one month. Local traffic seeking access to the parking lots off Plympton Street will be able to access Plympton by driving the opposite way down the street from Mass Ave. A police detail will be on site to assist.

EXTERIOR SITE ACTIVITIES:

  • Masonry work on the exterior façade will continue to take place for all buildings.
  • Masonry rebuilds for the Russell Hall & Westmorly chimneys continues.
  • Masonry rebuilds of the window bays at the east elevation of Westmorly will continue.
  • Window frame repairs remain ongoing at Westmorly.
  • Erection of the permanent steel structure will continue within Russell Hall & Westmorly.
  • A pump truck will be placed inside of the site fence for a concrete placement scheduled for Thursday, August 15.
  • A hoist will be operating while the site is open.
    • On weekdays the lift will operate 7:00am-3:30pm

INTERIOR ACTIVITIES:

  • Interior wood framing will continue to occur in Westmorly.
  • Interior framing and drywall will continue within Westmorly.
  • Excavations for under slab utilities within Westmorly continue.
  • The installation of new systems within Westmorly remain ongoing.
  • Installation of the elevator shafts in Westmorly Court will continue.
  • Permanent steel erection will continue within Russell Hall and Westmorly.
  • Spray fireproofing remains ongoing within Russell Hall and Westmorly.
  • Floor prep installation will continue with Russell Hall.
  • Steel and concrete demolition will continue to take place within Russell Hall to support the installation of new steel framing.

SCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH IMPACTS:

  • Masonry work adjacent to 9 Bow and 22 Plympton will continue.
  • Material loading for masonry and carpentry work via rear lot will take place.
  • A spray foam insulation truck will be parked within site fence to facilitate spray foam insulation within Westmorly.

WORK HOURS:

  • Monday-Friday: 7:00am to 3:30pm
  • Saturday, August 17: 9:00am to 4:00pm
