Week of August 19, 2024

The following summarizes the work planned on the Adams House Phase 3 renovation for the week of August 19. Please note that items in BOLD are expected to generate some noticeable noise.

PUBLIC WAY IMPACTS:
• Continuous deliveries and dumpster swaps will occur throughout the week.
• Water Service work will continue next week. Work will continue within the site fence at the beginning of the week then move into Bow Street. We will coordinate with the city for work outside the fence.
• Repairs to the tunnel roof from Randolph Hall to Russell Hall will require the contractor to close Plympton Street to through traffic starting on August 12 at all times for approximately one month. Local traffic seeking access to the parking lots off Plympton Street will be able to access Plympton by driving the opposite way down the street from Mass Ave. A police detail will be on site to assist.

EXTERIOR SITE ACTIVITIES:
• Masonry work will continue to take place on the exterior façade for all buildings.
• Masonry rebuilds for the Russell Hall & Westmorly chimney’s continues.
• Roofing contractor will start a roof installation on the window bays at the east elevation of Westmorly.
• Window frame repairs will continue at Westmorly & Russell Hall.
• The erection of permanent steel structure will continue within Russell Hall.
• A Pump truck will be placed within the site fence for a concrete placement scheduled for Thursday, August 22.
• A hoist will be operating while the site is open. On weekdays the lift will operate 7:00am-3:30pm

INTERIOR ACTIVITIES:
• Interior wood framing will continue to occur in Westmorly.
• Framing and drywall will continue within Westmorly.
• Excavation for under slab utilities within Westmorly continue.
• Mechanical Contractors will continue with installation of new systems within Westmorly.
• Masonry contractor will continue with the install of the elevator shafts in Westmorly Court.
• Permanent steel erection will continue within Russell Hall and Westmorly.
• Spray fireproofing will continue within Russell Hall
• Floor prep install will continue with Russell Hall.
• Steel and concrete demolition will continue within Russell Hall to support new steel framing installation.

SCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH IMPACTS:
• Masonry work adjacent to 9 Bow and 22 Plympton will continue.
• Material loading for masonry and carpentry work located in the rear lot will take place.
• A crane will be in rear parking lot on 8/22 to install a grease duct in Westmorly Courtyard.

    • Monday-Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm
    • Saturday 8/24 – Site Open from 9:00am to 4:00pm
