Dates 9/9/24 to 9/14/24:

PUBLIC WAY IMPACTS:

  • Continuous deliveries and dumpster swaps will occur throughout the week.
  • Water Service work is paused until September 9. The water shutdown has been coordinated with the City of Cambridge for the night of September 9 into September 10 starting at 12:00AM until 4:00AM.
  • Repairs to the tunnel roof from Randolph Hall to Russell Hall will require the contractor to close Plympton Street to through traffic starting on August 12 at all times for approximately one month. Local traffic seeking access to the parking lots off Plympton Street will be able to access Plympton by driving the opposite way down the street from Mass Ave. A police detail will be on site to assist. Plympton Street will be re-opened at the end of the day Tuesday, September 10.

EXTERIOR SITE ACTIVITIES:

  • Masonry work on the exterior façade will continue to take place for all buildings.
  • Masonry work for the Russell Hall & Westmorly chimneys will continue.
  • Roofing install on the window bays at the East Elevation of Westmorly is progressing.
  • Window frame repairs remain ongoing at Westmorly & Russell Hall.
  • A concrete placement is scheduled for Wednesday, September 11. A pump truck will be within the site fence to support this activity.
  • Russell Hall Chimney scaffolding will continue to be dismantled next week.
  • Library North scaffolding will start to be dismantled next week.
  • A hoist will be operating while the site is open.
    • On weekdays the lift will operate 7:00am-3:30pm

INTERIOR ACTIVITIES:

  • Interior framing and drywall continue to progress in Westmorly & Russell Hall.
  • The installation of new systems in Westmorly & Russell Hall.
  • Permanent steel erection is progressing within Russell Hall and Westmorly.
  • Spray foam insulation will continue within Westmorly & Russell Hall.
  • Floor prep installation will continue inside Russell Hall.

SCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH IMPACTS:

  • Masonry work continues adjacent to 9 Bow and 22 Plympton.
  • Material for masonry and carpentry work will load in via rear lot.
  • A spray foam insulation truck will be parked within the site fence to facilitate spray foam insulation within Westmorly.

WORK HOURS:

  • Monday-Friday: 7:00am to 3:30pm
  • Saturday, September 14: 9:00am to 4:00pm
