The following summarizes the utility work planned in the Littauer Lot for the week of April 7. Please note that items in BOLD are expected to generate some noticeable noise
Dates: 4/7/25-4/11/25
PUBLIC WAY IMPACTS:
- A crane will be on site in the Littauer lot on Tuesday, April 8, and possibly Wednesday, April 9, to install equipment inside the manhole adjacent to Austin Hall and set equipment on the nearby transformer pad outside of Austin Hall. The crane will be positioned adjacent to the fenced in work site. The area around the crane will be coned off and pedestrian detours marked as needed. The crane use will generate some moderate noise.
- A work zone will be set up around the manhole outside of Austin Hall. This work should not affect pedestrian traffic.
EXTERIOR SITE ACTIVITIES:
- McDonald Electric will be installing electrical wire inside the Littauer Center sub-basement electrical room from 7:00 am – 8:00 am on Monday, April 7. Within that hour, Littauer Center occupants will notice some loud noise for roughly 20 minutes from the drilling needed to install the wire puller. For the remainder of the day on Monday, Littauer Center occupants will notice some moderate noise from the wire puller when it is in operation.
- McDonald will be setting equipment and working inside the manhole located outside of Austin Hall on Monday, April 7. A truck will drop off a wire reel in the morning and then leave the area.
OTHER IMPACTS:
- No other impacts are expected.
WORK HOURS:
- Monday -Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
- No plan to work Saturday, April 12 at this time.
