Week of June 2, 2025

The following summarizes the utility work planned in the Littauer Lot for the week of June 2. Please note that items in BOLD are expected to generate some noticeable noise

Dates: 6/2/25-6/6/25

PUBLIC WAY IMPACTS:

  • Work zones will be coned off at the manholes located outside of Austin Hall, in the lawn adjacent to the laydown area, in front of Paine Hall and in the alleyway adjacent to Paine Hall to allow work inside the manholes. Pedestrian access will not be impacted.

EXTERIOR SITE ACTIVITIES:

  • McDonald Electric will be working in multiple manholes removing wiring and equipment from the cutover that was performed on 5/30/25. There will be no power disruptions to Littauer Center or Paine Hall due to these activities. There will be minimal noise impacts from these operations.
  • Bond will be on site on Tuesday, June 3, at 7am morning to move the jersey barriers back to the vehicle turnaround across from Jefferson. There will be some noise impacts from the equipment, however this will be a quick activity of less than an hour or so.

OTHER IMPACTS:

  • No other impacts are expected this week.
  • Site mobilization and fencing installation are scheduled to begin for new FAS building during the week of Monday, June 16.  A notice went out to abutters on Wednesday, May 28.  Also, the week of June 16, the contractor will also be creating a new curb cut for construction vehicles to enter the site off Mass Ave next to Gannett House.
  • Once project mobilization begins, access to the Littauer lot from Oxford Street and the SEAS lot will be minimized. A temporary vehicle turnaround will be available behind the Jefferson Lab and signage will be posted directing delivery drivers to follow the pedestrian paths to the buildings abutting this project.
  • Please note that delivery and service vehicles will not be able to drive into the construction zone. Project abutters should alert their vendors to this change when possible.

WORK HOURS:

  • Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
  • No plan to work Saturday, June 7 at this time.
