The following summarizes the work planned for the New FAS Building for the week of June 30. Please note that items in BOLD are expected to generate some noticeable noise or impacts.
Dates: 6/30/25-7/4/25
PUBLIC WAY IMPACTS:
- Site fence, barriers, scrim and signage will remain installed per most current logistics plan. All new pedestrian detours will be clearly marked with signage.
EXTERIOR SITE ACTIVITIES:
- WL French and Riggs continue installing the construction site fence, barriers, scrim and signage to establish the perimeter of the project. Noise impacts from the equipment used to install the fencing and fabric. Job site and wayfinding signage continues to be installed.
- After the installation of the perimeter site fence, WL French will begin stripping the site down and removing old utilities. Noise impacts from this operation from equipment and trucking.
- Some lighting in front of the Music Building is being removed to accommodate the job site set up, however, sufficient lighting will be in place outside of the project fence line at the Music Building to ensure safety after dark.
OTHER IMPACTS:
- More equipment will mobilize on site. There will be multiple construction vehicles entering and exiting the site.
- Equipment and trucking will begin using the new construction entrance from Massachusetts Avenue (between Gannett House and Hemenway Gymnasium) in conjunction with the existing construction entrance onto Cambridge Street (between Gannett and Littauer).
- Please ensure all deliveries and service vehicles have been advised of the restricted access to the former Littauer Lot. Many are currently driving on sidewalks and going around the barriers/signage.
WORK HOURS:
- Monday through Thursday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
- No work on Friday, July 4 due to Independence Day Holiday.
- No plan to work Saturday, July 5 at this time.
