The following summarizes the work planned for the new FAS building for the week of September 8, 2025:
Dates: 9/8/25-9/12/25
PUBLIC WAY IMPACTS:
- The site fence will remain in its current location. Wayfinding signage has been installed around the site and at the Jefferson turnaround to assist vehicles, cyclists, pedestrians, and delivery drivers.
EXTERIOR SITE ACTIVITIES:
- Treviicos will continue installing secant piles with two operational drill rigs. One drill rig will be working along the southern and eastern ends of the site in front of Littauer Hall and the Music Building. The second drill rig will be working along the eastern and northern ends of the site in front of the Music Building and Austin Hall. The rigs will be moving around the site continuously. A mobile crane will be used to assist this operation. Concrete trucks will be on site for this operation as well as trailers to haul out the material from the drilling. Noise and possible vibration impacts can be expected from this operation.
- WL French will continue supporting the secant operation by loading and hauling soils throughout the week. Some noise and possible vibration impacts can be expected from this operation.
OTHER IMPACTS:
- There will be multiple construction vehicles entering and existing the site. Equipment and trucking will continue using the construction entrance off Massachusetts Avenue between Gannett House and Hemenway Gymnasium in conjunction with the existing construction entrance onto Cambridge Street (between Gannett and Littauer).
- The buildings and utilities are being monitored 24/7 for conformance with specified vibration tolerances.
WORK HOURS:
- Monday, September 8, and Friday, September 12, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM to accommodate nearby events.
- Tuesday, September 9, through Thursday, September 11, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- There are no plans to work Saturday, September 13, at this time.
- The contractor will need to work on two upcoming Saturdays – September 20 and September 27 – from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
