Week of October 13, 2025

The following summarizes the work planned for the new FAS building for the week of October 13, 2025:


Dates: 10/13/25 – 10/17/25

PUBLIC WAY IMPACTS:

  • The site fence will remain in its current location. Wayfinding signage has been installed around the site and at the Jefferson turnaround to assist vehicles, cyclists, pedestrians, and delivery drivers.

EXTERIOR SITE ACTIVITIES:

  • Treviicos will continue installing secant piles with one operational drill rig. The drill rig will be working along the western end of the site towards Gannett House. The rig will be moving around the site continuously. A mobile crane will be used to assist this operation. Concrete trucks will be on site for this operation as well as trailers to haul out the material from the drilling. Noise and possible vibration impacts can be expected from this operation.
  • WL French will continue supporting the secant operation by loading and hauling soils throughout the week. There will be some noise and possible vibration impacts from this operation.
  • WL French will continue excavating along the interior of the secant pile wall and removing the concrete on the secant pile wall for the installation of bracing seats. Multiple trailers will be on site to haul out material from this operation. This work will generate some noise and possible vibration impacts.
  • Treviicos will continue installing waler seats, walers and corner bracing on the interior of the secant pile wall. Noise impacts can be expected from this operation.
  • Treviicos will be demobilizing the drill rigs from the site. A mobile crane will be used to assist this operation. Multiple trailers will also be on site to assist this operation. There will be some noise impacts from this operation.

OTHER IMPACTS:

  • There will be multiple construction vehicles entering and existing the site. Equipment and trucking will continue using the construction entrance off Massachusetts Avenue between Gannett House and Hemenway Gymnasium in conjunction with the existing construction entrance onto Cambridge Street (between Gannett and Littauer).
  • The buildings and utilities are being monitored 24/7 for conformance with specified vibration tolerances.

WORK HOURS:

  • Tuesday through Friday, October 14 – 17 from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • The site will be closed on Monday, October 13, for the Indigenous Peoples’ Day Holiday
  • The contractoris currently planning to work Saturday, October 11, and October 18 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
