The following summarizes the work planned for the new FAS building for the week of December 1, 2025:

Dates: 12/1/25 – 12/5/25

PUBLIC WAY IMPACTS:

  • The site fence will remain in its current location. Wayfinding signage has been installed around the site and at the Jefferson turnaround to assist vehicles, cyclists, pedestrians, and delivery drivers.

EXTERIOR SITE ACTIVITIES:

  • French and Treviicos will begin excavating and installing lagging and bracing for the steam tunnel support work. The excavation work will be done with a vac truck. Noise impacts due to the vac truck from this operation.
  • French will continue excavating inside the secant wall under the bracing. Multiple trailers will be on site for this operation. Noise impacts from this operation.
  • S&F will be on site to begin placing the concrete mud mat that will be located below the mat foundation slab. There will be a pump truck and multiple concrete trucks on site for this operation. Noise impacts from this operation.

OTHER IMPACTS:

  • There will be multiple construction vehicles entering and existing the site. Equipment and trucking will continue using the construction entrance off Massachusetts Avenue between Gannett House and Hemenway Gymnasium in conjunction with the existing construction entrance onto Cambridge Street (between Gannett and Littauer)
  • The buildings and utilities are being monitored 24/7 for conformance with specified vibration tolerances.

WORK HOURS:

  • Monday 12/1/25 thru Friday 12/5/25 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • No plans to work Saturday 12/6/25 at this time.
