The following summarizes the work planned for the new FAS building for the week of December 8, 2025:
Dates: 12/8/25 – 12/12/25
PUBLIC WAY IMPACTS:
- The site fence will remain in its current location. Wayfinding signage has been installed around the site and at the Jefferson turnaround to assist vehicles, cyclists, pedestrians, and delivery drivers.
EXTERIOR SITE ACTIVITIES:
- French and Treviicos will continue excavating and installing lagging and bracing for the steam tunnel support work. The excavation work will be done with a vacuum truck. Noise impacts can be expected due to use of the vacuum truck from this operation.
- French will continue excavating inside the secant wall under the bracing. Multiple trailers will be on site for this operation. Some noise impacts can be expected from this operation.
- S&F will be on site to continue placing the concrete mud mat that will be located below the mat foundation slab and the tower crane footing. There will be a pump truck and multiple concrete trucks on site for this operation. Noise impacts can be expected from this operation.
- S&F will begin forming and installing reinforcing for the tower crane footing and mat foundation slabs. There will be a crane and multiple delivery trailers on site for these operations. Some noise impacts can be anticipated.
- The Waterproofing Company will be on site to begin installing the waterproofing for the foundations. There will be some noise impacts from this operation.
OTHER IMPACTS:
- There will be multiple construction vehicles entering and existing the site. Equipment and trucking will continue using the construction entrance off Massachusetts Avenue between Gannett House and Hemenway Gymnasium in conjunction with the existing construction entrance onto Cambridge Street (between Gannett and Littauer).
- The buildings and utilities are being monitored 24/7 for conformance with specified vibration tolerances.
WORK HOURS:
- Monday through Friday, December 8 – 12, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- There are no plans to work on Saturday, December 13.
