Residential/Hotel
- On Saturday, February 8, panel installation will take place on the residential buildings with several boom lifts operating. Roofing activities will be underway on the high rise and hotel. Miscellaneous interior work with hoists operational is planned.
- During the week windows are being installed on the high-rise building, and green exterior panels are being installed on the midrise building.
- A suspended scaffolding deck, like under a bridge is set up, on the underside of the cantilever section at the hotel.
- Storefront installation is underway on the ground floors.
- Mast climber scaffolding is set up and continues to be installed in sections on the high-rise building.
- Elevators are being installed.
- Other smaller concrete operations continue including loading dock slab and infill to the garage/basement.

- On Saturday, February 8, curtainwall will be placed using the tower crane. Interior drywall framing and mechanical work will be underway as well as general clean-up activities.

Building Mock-Ups
- Building mockups are on the corner of Hague and Rotterdam Streets.
Eversource Conduit Project
- Eversource duct bank installation by G. Greene Construction is underway along Western Avenue. Crews are near Travis Street. This public utility work is not under the supervision of ERC.
General
- Snow and ice removal and cleanup will take place, including Sunday, February 9, as needed.
- The project’s work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Saturdays/off hours as permitted by the City of Boston from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Hoists (exterior construction elevators) are operating on the residential, hotel and lab buildings.
- Drones will be in use bi-weekly to monitor construction progress on site.
- Drones will be operated by licensed pilots in accordance with Harvard University and the City of Boston regulations.
- Weekly flights are weather dependent and are scheduled one weekday morning.
- A drone is scheduled to fly Thursday, February 13 from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Signage Project at SEC and Stadium Way
- A signage installation project in front of the SEC building continues.
- Concrete removal will create some perceptible noise due to the use of a jackhammer.
- Barriers surround the work area.
North Allston Storm Drain Extension Project (NASDEP)
The NASDEP, a project designed for Boston Water and Sewer Commission (BWSC) to alleviate the existing inundated storm water systems in North Allston, continues with enabling work on the ERC site.
- South of Science work between Rena Path and Rotterdam Street will continue this week.
- Science Drive is narrowed through fall 2025 with new line striping indicating the lanes.
- Excavation and installation of the support system to install structures will continue.
- Expecting concrete deliveries.
- Science Drive sidewalk will close, pedestrians will be shifted to the SEC walkway when manhole work takes place at the end of February.
- A generator and motorized dewatering equipment operate on site.
92 Seattle Street
- Renovation for reuse of this Harvard building is complete, and some final punch list items remain.
- Stanchions and handrails have been delivered. Handrail installation is now underway.
- Project completion is expected on February 17.
175 North Harvard Street, 100 South Campus Drive
The following is an overview of the work taking place at the 175 North Harvard construction site at the future location of the new Harvard University affiliate housing building and American Repertory Theatre (ART).
- Steel decking installation and detailing are expected to be complete by the end of this month. Concrete deck placements will continue on upper levels to the roof and should be completed by mid-February, weather permitting. Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing trades continue to work throughout the site. Crews are fireproofing on the 8th level for another month. This work is progressing up the building. Window deliveries continue and window installation has started. Crews are backfilling foundations and performing site work. Stairs are being installed on the north side of the building.
- The tower crane will be in use for the next week during normal working hours as crews continue to work through winter weather conditions. The crane is currently scheduled to be disassembled and removed from the site over the weekend beginning Friday evening, February 14. Because this is a sizeable undertaking, the crane disassembly will require early morning and later evening hours through the weekend with removal complete by Sunday, February 16. The project team appreciates the community’s understanding during this after-hours work.
- The height of the temporary construction hoist has been increased to the 12th floor and is operational. Hoist expansion work will continue to the roof. Some activity may extend into the evening when the hoist is not operational.
- Crews continue to install building wrap to retain temporary heat on upper floors during concrete and fireproofing activities. A small amount of noise associated with the temporary heaters falls within normal limits and may be heard off-hours. Tarping is removed at the lower floors after the fireproofing is complete.
- During the week of February 10, work at the new affiliate housing building will require the closure of South Campus Drive to all vehicles during working hours Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. to support multiple concrete placements and critical deliveries that need to use South Campus Drive for access. All traffic leaving the Continuum and Trader Joe’s parking will be instructed to make a right turn only out of the garage. The road will be open to traffic each day after 5 p.m. and on weekends. Signage and details will be provided to divert traffic as needed, and police details will be on site to provide assistance. The signage will be covered after the end of each shift and on Sundays so vehicles can use South Campus Drive, with the exception of the February 14 to 16 weekend when the tower crane is scheduled to come down.
- Occasional concrete deck placements continue on the upper levels to the roof level during regular work hours throughout this month – some finishing work will extend beyond 9 p.m. with the colder temperatures. Noise is generated by the power trowels used for finishing. The fresh concrete needs to be covered with blankets for warmth while curing. A pump truck will be present on South Campus Drive during concrete pours.
- As winter weather allows, wheel washing and street sweeping continue to ensure soil is not being tracked through the neighborhood streets.
- On the new American Repertory Theater (ART) work site, backfilling for exterior walls and excavating for utilities continues around the building perimeter. Concrete work on footings and piers is underway. Steel detailing of fly tower structure continues
- Mass timber (engineered wood products known for their strength, durability, versatility and sustainability) will follow beginning on Monday, February 24. Layout and setting of base plates for the mass timber structure is underway. A crane to support this work will mobilize mid-February. This work is expected to take about seven months to complete.
- Intermittent adjustments continue on the building mock-ups to review design and constructability across North Harvard Street.
- Crews at the affiliate housing building site will be working on Saturday, February 8, weather permitting, performing some welding and installing some steel sections. Heaters will be maintained by workers on Sundays through the winter.
- Off hours snow and ice removal are expected as needed including this Saturday and Sunday, February 8 and 9.
- The project’s regular work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Saturdays as permitted by the City of Boston from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

- Eversource or Verizon will remove an old pole and power line.
- The bakery Sofra is open.

- One machine is operating for sanitary pipe installation trench work in the Swiss Bakers lot behind the fence.
- Small concrete placements will continue.

- The Swiss Bakers bakery operation will be temporarily relocated to 9 Travis Street at the end of the month while their space gets renovated.
