- Thermal striping in the Harvard Business School lot will take place in the spring.
Utility Investigation at HBS
- Nineteen test pits in and near Harvard Business School’s Spangler parking lot are planned during spring break to investigate utilities for potential future project work.
- On Saturday, March 15 crews will sawcut, remove and patch the pavement to prepare for the weekday test pit work.
- A vacuum truck will be operating intermittently during excavation starting on March 17, and backfilling operations are needed for this work
- Restoration operations are scheduled for Saturday, March 22.

- On Saturday, March 15, exterior panel installation will take place on the midrise residential building with several boom lifts operating. The high rise will continue to be prepped for panel install and have roofing activity underway. Crews will be applying hot mix to the area beyond the connector nearer to the labs. The scaffolding will be reassembled at the hotel loading dock with repositioning work at the suspended deck. Elevator and miscellaneous interior work with operational hoists is planned.
- On Sunday, March 16, six workers in the high-rise elevator shaft will be working onsite. If the weather permits, a dozen workers on the roof of the high rise will be closing up openings and installing roofing. Hoists will be operational.
- Exterior wall sheathing and panel clips are being installed on the high-rise building, and green exterior panels are being installed on the midrise building.
- A suspended scaffolding deck, like under a bridge is set up, on the underside of the cantilever section at the hotel.
- Storefront installation is underway on the ground floors.
- Mast climber scaffolding and swing staging are set up on the high-rise building.
- Elevators are being installed.
- Other smaller concrete operations continue.

- Eversource electrical cabling will be taking place in the future along Western Avenue. This public utility work is not under the supervision of ERC.

- Snow, water and ice removal and cleanup will take place as needed.
- The projects work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Saturdays/off hours as permitted by the City of Boston from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Hoists (exterior construction elevators) are operating on the residential, hotel and lab buildings.
- Drones will be in use bi-weekly to monitor construction progress on site.
o Drones will be operated by licensed pilots in accordance with Harvard University and the City of Boston regulations.
o Weekly flights are weather dependent and are scheduled one weekday morning.
o A drone is scheduled to fly Thursday, March 20 at 2:30 p.m.
Signage Project at SEC and Stadium Way
- A signage installation project in front of the SEC building continues.
- Barriers surround the work area.
North Allston Storm Drain Extension Project (NASDEP)
The NASDEP, a project designed for Boston Water and Sewer Commission (BWSC) to alleviate the existing inundated storm water systems in North Allston, continues with enabling work on the ERC site.
- South of Science work between Rena Path and Rotterdam Street will continue this week.
- Science Drive is narrowed through fall 2025 with new line striping indicating the lanes.
- Some demolition work as part of the installation of manhole structures continues.
- A temporary drainage bypass system with an operator is running.
- A dewatering system has been installed.
- A generator and motorized dewatering equipment operate on site.
92 Seattle Street
- Inspections and minor punch list work are on the exterior ramp will take place.
- Interior fit out work is planned to take place in March.
175 North Harvard Street, 100 South Campus Drive
The following is an overview of the work taking place at the 175 North Harvard construction site at the future location of the new Harvard University affiliate housing building and American Repertory Theatre (ART).
- Concrete deck pours are substantially complete. Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing trades continue to work throughout the site. Interior framing is underway. Window deliveries and window installation using boom lifts continue. Masonry work is underway, and fireproofing is ongoing. Exterior wall sheathing continues on the south side of the low-rise building. An additional crane will be on site this week to set up swing staging on the 10th and 12th floors of the midrise. Work continues on doors and ramps. Exterior swing staging and a scaffolding lift system are being set up on the buildings to assist with curtainwall installation. Brickwork has started. Spray on fireproofing was complete last week allowing for the temporary heat and building wrap to be removed.
- During the week of March 17, South Campus Drive will need to be closed periodically between 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. to support critical deliveries that need to use the road for access. At these times, all traffic leaving the Continuum and Trader Joe’s parking garage will be instructed to make a right turn only out of the garage. South Campus Drive will be open to traffic each day after 5 p.m. and on Sunday. Signage will be provided to divert traffic as needed, and police details will be on site to provide assistance. The signage will be covered after the end of each shift so vehicles can use South Campus Drive.
- Wheel washing and street sweeping continue to ensure soil is not being tracked through the neighborhood streets.
- On the new American Repertory Theater (ART) work site, crews are installing a stormwater system. The project has a crane in place to install mass timber (engineered wood products known for their strength, durability, versatility and sustainability) for the next several months. Daily wood deliveries are underway. A police detail is assigned to North Harvard Street/South Campus Drive to help facilitate mass timber trailer deliveries. Wood protection trades and mechanical systems installation are beginning as mass timber gets installed. Columns, beams, and trusses are being installed.
- Adjustments continue on the ART building mock-up to review design and constructability across North Harvard Street.
- Work will be taking place at the affiliate housing building site on Saturdays, March 15, and March 22, to do some exterior wall sheathing and masonry work. Heaters will be maintained by workers on Sundays through the winter. The crew at the ART project will be installing mass timber on Saturday, March 15, during regular work hours.
- The project’s regular work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Saturdays as permitted by the City of Boston from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

- Eversource or Verizon will remove an old pole and power line.
