Week of July 24, 2023

The following update is a summary of the renovation work taking place at Russell Hall, Library Commons, and Westmorly Court (Adams House/Phase 3) next week:

PUBLIC WAY IMPACTS:

  • Continuous deliveries and dumpster swaps throughout the week.
  • Eversource is scheduled to remove the gas meters from behind the building.
  • Install of crosswalk at the corner of Bow and DeWolfe and line striper for Plympton Street (Police Details will be scheduled)
  • Removal of demo materials and live loading into dumpsters from back parking to Bow Street. (Police Details will be scheduled.)
    • Note that the set-up during the trash-out will last 1 hour for 3 times a day approx. Sidewalk will be fully opened when plan is not in use.

EXTERIOR SITE ACTIVITIES: (Items in Bold are expected to generate some noticeable noise)

  • Contractor will be working on test pits to identify underground utilities at Lower Bow Street using a vacuum truck.
  • Masonry work on the exterior façade will continue.
  • Scaffolding erection will continue at the East Terrace and then the Southwest corner of Russell Hall.
  • Abatement of windows and doors will continue.
  • Install of the temporary standpipes on the exterior of Russell and Westmorly will continue.
  • Removal of refrigerant from kitchen and servery cooling units.

INTERIOR ACTIVITIES:

  • Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing make safe and temp fire alarm / temp power will continue.
  • Temporary protection will continue.
  • Demo of interior wood trim, kitchen equipment and ancillaries will continue.

WORK HOURS:

  • Monday to Friday 7am to 3:30pm
  • Saturday 7/22 9am to 4:30pm
