175 North Harvard Street Project Construction Impacts Update

• Sitework, including concrete and soil removal, will continue into early next week. Truck activity will remain steady and street sweeping will continue to support this work.

•Project enabling activities continue through January in preparation for building construction.
o Crews are grading the site down to the interim elevation.
o The installation of sheet piles using a vibratory hammer began last week. This work will continue for about one month. Bulk excavation has also started on site.
o Please note that these types of activities, while safe, do generate noise and may also generate some perceptible vibrations during regular work hours between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
o Third-party engineers continue to monitor the dust, noise, and vibration monitors that are positioned around the work site to ensure construction activities remain within safe and acceptable levels.


• Sub-surface drainage installation on South Campus Drive is complete. The roadway has been paved and striped. Traffic flow on South Campus Drive was restored on Thursday, December 14.


• In the next week or so, the pile rig will be removed from the job site. This will need to take place between 11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. as equipment of this size is only allowed on the roadways between these hours.


• Thermal piping installation work is ongoing with anticipated completion planned for late December 2023.


• The project’s regular work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Some work on Saturdays may be necessary as permitted by the City of Boston also from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
