Week of December 25, 2023

175 North Harvard Street Project Construction Impacts Update

•The job site will be closed on Monday, December 25, for the Christmas holiday.

• Project enabling activities continue through January in preparation for building construction.
o Sitework, including pre-excavation, concrete, and soil removal, will continue into next week. Truck activity will remain steady and street sweeping will continue to support this work.
o The installation of sheet piles using a vibratory hammer will continue for several more weeks. Bulk excavation is targeted to begin at the end of next week.
o These types of activities, while safe, do generate noise and may also generate some perceptible vibrations during regular work hours between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
o Third-party engineers continue to monitor the dust, noise, and vibration monitors that are positioned around the work site to ensure construction activities remain within safe and acceptable levels.

• South Campus Drive has been paved, striped, and traffic flow has been restored.

• The pile rig on site is scheduled to be removed from the job site during the second week of January. This will need to take place between 11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. as equipment of this size is only allowed on the roadways between these hours.

• Thermal piping installation work is ongoing with anticipated completion planned for late December 2023.

• The project’s regular work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Some work on Saturdays may be necessary as permitted by the City of Boston also from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
